Roving Reporters Cricket Club

Gameweek 5 saw Reporters travel to Tewin on Sunday in yet again glorious sunshine, but after losing the toss, Reporters were asked to bake in the field. A Blistering opening 16 overs from Derek Weist (8/1/20/0) and Danny Mills (8/1/36/1) saw Reporters limit the home side, with Derek’s economy rate of just 2.5, saw him pick up an extra 10 bonus bowling points.

A classy contribution between Simmo Snr (7/1/22/0) and Simmo Jr (5/2/25/2) saw the family limit Tewin to just 47 runs from their combined 12 overs, picking up 15 and 20 bowling points respectively. AJ grabbed two wickets and a “runout” before the end of the game, leaving Tewin on 175/7 off their 40 overs and saw AJ tally up 30 points in the field. 

An opening partnership from Paul Lewis and Stuart Wiggins got the side off to a solid start, before Lewis fell for his lowest total of the season, leaving him stranded on just 9 points for the week. A rare duck for AJ, saw his points tally take a hit of -5 and left his 6 owners on a limited 25points. A contribution of 34 from Stuart Wiggins added to his on field catch, putting on 39 points for the game week and Dave Simmons hit 42, bringing his weekly points total to 47. An unbeaten 42 from Jake and 12 from Danny saw the team home for its 5^th win of the season.

Dyslexia Untied have now taken a small lead at the top of the table with 865 points and is now followed by Simmo’s slip Drives on 802. MW3 falls from 2^nd place to 4^th, whereas Here Wiggo Again jumped 7 spaces to just outside of the top 10. No change at the bottom of the table, shows L B’S W’S sitting rock bottom, behind Stevie’s Wonders and JV’s All Stars. Gameweek 6 see’s Reporters travel to Great Missenden Pelicans as the club enters its first fixture in July.
