Tour 2017
Dear RR’s Tourist,
As we are going to a new hotel, with new opposition this year, I thought it best to send a quick memo to everyone to inform them of the key details.
Please note the attempts at some comedic fancy dress are purely optional but all trying to add a bit more fun.
Can’t wait to see you there!
Thanks Jake.

Key Information:
Hotel
Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Beech Avenue, Taverham, Norwich NR8 6HP
Monday
Monday’s fixture is against a side called ROCKLANDS CC, who are based just outside of Attleborough. The start time for the fixture will be 1 o’clock, please be there for 12:30, and will be a 40 over game, followed by a visit to a local pub. The ground details are:
The Pavilion, Green Lane, Rocklands, Attleborough, NR17 1UA. As in previous years, those going up on the Monday morning can stop close by for breakfast / pre match nutritional meal. There is a pit stop about 10 minutes away from the ground called BRECKLAND LODGE (NR17 1AY) which is directly on the A11 - you can gain access by turning right at the roundabout off the A11. Good Selection of food and hot drinks available.
Post-game the hotel is a 30 minute drive from the ground and is best accessed by the A11 & A47.
This year’s evening Dress Code for the Monday night has been selected as Double Denim – Simply wear at least two items of Denim to dinner. This like every evening is optional; however there is a prize for best dressed.
Tuesday
Fixture is against Blacksheep, and the ground (Dereham) is now only now 20 minutes away from the hotel. This is a 1pm start. Please remember this is a charity game and there will be a raffle at the end plus individual fines, which will need you to bring out your change – Paul Lewis you will need to dust out your wallet.
Evening dress code has been selected by the ladies of RR’s as Wild West. This is optional however there is a prize again of best dressed. I am not expecting full John Wayne’s but a little Clint Eastwood/Annie Oakley would be good.
After dinner will be this year’s Tour Quiz so make sure you brush up on your general knowledge – Teams will be selected by me, at random.
Wednesday
This year our fixture against Dereham falls on the Wednesday. This is a 1pm start allowing for a relaxing morning.
Wednesday’s evening meal will be held at the Dereham clubhouse, and Buzz and crew will be laying on a BBQ for a small cost. If you don’t wish to join us for the evening, please can you let myself or Buzz know so that we can update the numbers. The clubhouse bar will be open, and I know Buzz is hoping we attempt to drink it dry. Therefore a few discussions of a minibus/taxi’s have been suggested to get to and from the ground to save anyone having to drive. This will be organised on tour, so please let me know if you would be interested and I will make sure you have a seat.
The dress code for the evening will be: Hawaiian – Loud Shirts / Colourful Shorts / Bright dresses / Grass skirts and bikinis
Along with a prize for best dressed will be a few extra ‘games’ around the club house.
Thursday
Again the club plays Diss and Mellis during the day. A 1:30pm start.
Evening is the mini presentation and the dress code for the evening is simply: Jacket Club – Blazers / jackets / smart / casual – Up to you. – Best Dressed will again win a prize.
Morning Dress Code
As like previous years and so well displayed by Craig Thorpe last year – The morning dress code remains as Short Shorts – Again this is optional
Man of the match / The day’s captain
After each game this year the opposition captain will be awarding a Reporters Man of the match award; This will be MOTM club blazer. Once this has been awarded, the days Man of The Match must wear this blazer at all times, until it is handed back to the captain on the next day prior to the start of the game. This blazer also gives you some rules to enforce. But punishments if not worn.
The day’s captain will be presented with a club captain arm band. Again this must be worn at all times. This will then be presented at 12 o clock to the next day’s captain / prior to going to bed. The captain will also be able to nominate a captains mate to help him out on the day.
Terms and conditions:
*Best dressed will be selected by myself and I am open to bribes. All prizes will most likely be alcohol. If you don’t like alcohol, then feel free to give it back to me.
** The quiz is created by me and not an official company – therefore what I say goes.
*** Although the morning is short shorts – Please ensure that you leave something to the imagination – there will be other people present.
**** everything has been introduced to add a bit of fun to the week and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
