SELECTION POLICY
We are fortunate enough to find ourselves in a very healthy availability position, which is a brilliant barometer for the health of our club. This does mean however that we will need to stand down player(s) fairly regularly. We therefore thought it would be good time to transparently share our approach to selection :
- As far in advance as you can share your availbilty will help us to make good, informed decisions
- When oversubscribed, the standing down of members will be shared around equally – in an “everyone will take a turn” type approach. Once everyone has been stood down once, we then commence a second round, and so on
- Whilst managing this, we must retain appropriate strength in batting, bowling and fielding, so this will influence decisions
- If any player is stood down they will be confirmed to play the next game they are available. We will let you know as early in the week as possible to allow you to make other plans
- If you are carrying an injury or available but happy to be stood down, please do let us know – we will always accept an “If Short” classification of your availbilty
- We will share and update all those who have stood down as work through the season
- If your availability changes you need to contact one of us ASAP
- For information, we’ve had really good availability for the first game and thus stood 3 down and they are Ben, Jake & Dave. Thank you to each of you.
