Roving Reporters Cricket Club News story

Need your help

30 Sep 2013

Dear my fellow Reporters,

Over the recent summer I have worked for a company called ‘Activate Sport’, which is a camp where children of all ages and abilities can play and learn about the joys of cricket.

The sessions would take place at an Andrew Flintoff cricket academy course, and during this time I was fortunate enough to meet Paul Baker, who is a founding member of a charity called ‘Big Shot Cricket’. Paul spoke to me about how ‘Big Shot Cricket’ aims to impact lives physically, spiritually and economically through cricket in developing nations.

With my passion for cricket and charity I found that I instantly wanted to get involved with the charity.

In the first few weeks of November 2013 I have the amazing opportunity to go to Kolkata in India to work with some underprivileged children and give them the opportunity to learn and develop though cricket.

However, in order to achieve this goal, I really need you!

On Friday October 18th at Old Owens Cricket Club, in Potters Bar, I will be holding a quiz night to help raise money for the charity. It costs just £5 per person and starts at 7:30.

It would be amazing if you could come along and join in with the evening, partake in a quiz, have a few drinks and socialise all in the name of raising money and making a difference.

To book a table please just contact me on facebook or send me an email at Jake.a.pike91@gmail.com with a list of names and you shall be added to the list.

If you are unable to come but would still like to make a contribution please feel free to contact me directly.

Thank You,

Jake
