Scorecard

St Albans West Indians v Roving Reporters Cricket Club Roving Reporters on Sun 01 May 2011 at 2pm
Roving Reporters Cricket Club Won by 4 wickets

Match report RRs good early season form continued as for the second successive week we chased down a score of over 200.
Having been asked to field first for the second week running, tight early bowling spells from Dave Simmons and Pete Drury restricted SAWI to 4 an over for for the first hour. Debutant Dave Rees picked up two wickets during an impressive spell of left-arm spin bowling, before some late hard-hitting allowed our hosts to set a challenging target of 209.
In reply, a stunning cameo of 22 from a surely-drugged-up Pete Jenkins allowed Paul Lewis to find his rhythm, but wickets fell at regular intervals until Dave Simmons joined Paul at the crease. With 80 needed from the final 10 overs, Paul finally fell for 74, before Chris Jones (20 not out) joined Simmo (51 not out from just 36 balls) at the crease to see RRs home with just 5 balls to spare.
Can we make it three wins out of three tomorrow?
