RRs secured a second win of the season at Ley Hill in difficult conditions. Reporters batted first and posted a creditable 207-7. Stuart Wiggins led the way with 59, and received good support from Paul Lewis (30), Paul Smith (24) and a scrambling effort from AJ Shazad (23*) at the end of the innings. Other highlights of the innings, included John Rogan being bowled Simmons, caught Mills and Paul Lewis being well caught on the short boundary attempting a six by Ley Hill guest Dave Simmons.
After a good tea RRs went out to field in horrendous conditions with persistent driving rain and wind. A 25 minute interval ensued until Ley Hill went out to recommence their reply. With the sun out and on a drying wicket, Ley Hill were unable to take the initiative due to a fine spell from Craig Thorpe (3-18), and a typically wily effort from Terry Miles (3-31) - who consistently bamboozled Ley Hill batsmen Simmons and Mills. Despite a quick 50 from Lagdon down the order, RRs eventually triumphed by 31 runs to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
