RR's succumbed to defeat at Hoddesdon by 59 runs despite a valiant effort to chase down the mammoth Hoddesdon total of 300 - 7 off 40 overs. Despite a determined effort in the field, dropped catches (Simmo, Terry and Paul Lewis!) proved costly as the Hoddesdon skipper made a powerful 138 to underpin their innings. In reply, quickfire knocks from Simmo, Rocky and Wiggo helped RR's get a good platform from which to launch a bid for victory, but ultimately the regular fall of wickets derailed the innings.
